Stand Up for Children - Keynote Speaker Sharon Carnahan, Ph.D.
Good Neighbor Series keynote event featuring a talk entitled “Stand up for Children,” by Dr. Sharon Carnahan, Executive Director of the Hume House Child Development & Student Research Center. This event will take place on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 6:30 pm in the Rice Family Pavilion.
In her talk, Dr. Carnahan will:
• discuss the state of America’s youngest children today in comparison to children in other parts of the world, and relative to where we were 75 years ago;
• summarize improvements and continuing challenges for young children and families;
• discuss the various social ecologies in which children are embedded, underscoring the importance of standing up for children at every level; and
• provide concrete ways in which each of us can work to make our local and global communities a better place for all children.
