Opera Orlando’s “Opera on the Town” series presents FRIDA KAHLO AND THE BRAVEST GIRL IN THE WORLD with music by Joe Illick and a libretto by Mark Campbell. Adapted from the book by Laurence Anholt, this children’s opera centers around Mariana, a young girl in Mexico who befriends the artist Frida Kahlo. While Frida paints her portrait, Mariana learns about friendship, belief in oneself, and overcoming her fears. Sung in “spanglish,” this 40-minute opera is entertaining for all ages!
