While online retail giants like Amazon have taken a bite out of the foot traffic at brick and mortar stores in recent years, Black Friday still marks the start of the holiday shopping season. And for shoppers who venture out, it’s an event.

Mom and pops stores in central Florida are preparing to see more customers shopping tomorrow. 90.7’s Renata Sago reports, more local shop owners are participating in Small Business Saturday.

There are only four weekends until Christmas- including Black Friday weekend, when 140 million Americans are expected to hit the stores in search of a good deal.The Florida Retail Federation is forecasting a 5 percent increase in sales this holiday season over last year.
