The Florida Department of Education has updated its list of school closures ahead of Idalia. Here's the rundown when it comes to Central Florida:
K12 School Closures
- Brevard County Schools will be closed Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
- Flagler County Schools will be closed Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
- Lake County Schools will be closed Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
- Marion County Schools will be closed Tuesday, August 29, 2023 and Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
- Orange County Schools will be closed Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
- Osceola County Schools will be closed Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
- Polk County Schools will be closed Wednesday, August 30, 2023 and Thursday, August 31, 2023.
- Seminole County Schools will be closed Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
- Sumter County Schools will have an early release day Tuesday, August 29, 2023 and remain through Thursday, August 31, 2023.
- Volusia County Schools will be closed Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
Florida College System Closures
- College of Central Florida will be closed Tuesday, August 29, 2023 and Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
- Lake-Sumter State College will close at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 29, 2023 and remain closed Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
- Polk State College will close at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 and remain closed Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
- Rollins College will be closed Wednesday, August 30, 2023. Virtual classes will continue.
- Seminole State College will close at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 and remain closed Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
- University of Central Florida will be closed Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
- Valencia College will be closed Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
State University Closures
- Florida A&M University will be closed Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
