Fifteen percent of energy in Hawaii comes from renewable sources such as wind, solar and biomass. The rest comes mostly from pricey oil imports. The state now wants to switch from oil to natural gas as an interim fuel. But some worry the move could derail the state's green energy momentum.

DOJ Won't Sue To Overturn Recreational Pot Laws
The Department of Justice issued new guidance Thursday on enforcement of marijuana laws. The move comes after two states — Colorado and Washington — legalized marijuana for recreational use. The department said it would not sue to pre-empt those laws as long as the two states follow the new policy, which applies to all 50 states. The government's priorities for prosecutors include keeping drug profits away from gangs and cartels, and keeping marijuana away from children.

The Monopoly game hitting store shelves contains a sleek kitty, which will join the classic Scottie dog and top hat. Fans adopted the cat in an online vote earlier this year. The company shelved the iron after a 78 year run.
