Investigators say that they believe Woods mistakenly hit the accelerator rather than the brake as he was negotiating a curve in Los Angeles in February.

The sheriff for Los Angeles County plans to announce what caused golf icon Tiger Woods to crash an SUV in Southern California earlier this year.

The extent of the legendary golfer's injuries was not immediately clear. The sheriff's department said Woods was driving the only car involved in the collision.
