Jerry Demings will be the next Orange County Mayor. Sheriff Demings beat Rob Panepinto and County Commissioner Pete Clark to win the election.

Orange County is one of the largest school districts in Florida and the school board election is generating a lot of attention in the run up to the August 28th election. Candidates for the district six seat and school board chair talked about some of the issues facing the board at a forum at Baldwin Park Elementary School.

Teachers at Brevard County Schools might be able to carry weapons soon if a new safety plan is approved. The school board will vote on the plan later in the month.
