Federal Trial Begins in Lawsuit over LGBT Student Club in Leesburg
School district officials and students will testify today in a federal lawsuit over the Lake County School Board’s decision to deny a club for gay and straight students at Carver Middle School in Leesburg. The American Civil Liberties Union of Florida calls the move a violation of students’ rights.But as 90.7’s Renata Sago reports, school board officials call it a policy that focuses on academics.
