In 1985, a drug smuggler dropped a shipment of cocaine from his plane. It landed in the Chattahoochee–Oconee National Forest, where an American black bear found and ate it. In Cocaine Bear: The Opera, an only moderately dramatized version of events, the aforementioned bear then proceeds to enjoy a drug-fueled rampage filled with murder, mayhem, and Mozart. Cocaine Bear: The Opera is written and directed by Orlando Fringe Festival favorite, veteran director and storyteller, Eric Pinder (Driving Miss Cherry Blossom, Waiting For Napoleon), and also features the extraordinary vocal talent of Maeghin Mueller, David Lee Smith, Jose-Manuel Lopez, Jessica Hoehn, and Christie Duffer. Pinder promises the same “wildly entertaining and darkly hilarious B-movie blood-fest” as the 2023 film - but this time, there’s singing!

Cyril doesn’t like old people, which is a shame, because he is one. When he learns his estranged granddaughter, Lily, has her big break with her thrash metal band, Abscess, he and his friend Neville are determined to show up and support her. Neither of them will ever be the same again. From the creative teams behind the Orlando Critics' Choice Award winners Forget Me Not, How I Met My Mother and Til Death.
“Best of Fringe” Award Winner in the 2023 San Fran Fringe, “Howdy, Stranger” is a one person musical comedy which uses the power of tequila, puppetry and dangerously catchy show tunes to answer the question: How far will a person go for love and respect? We follow a queer lawman named Jean who strives to become the new county deputy, despite being a fool and insufferable theatre kid. When an outlaw steals his only friend (Oscar Nominated Buttermilk the Horse), Jean embarks on a rivetin’ romp through the West to face gunslingin’ outlaws and disturbingly handsome criminals with nothin’ but a smile and a song (while trying not to get shot and killed to death). “Howdy, Stranger” is full of laughs, tears, and shockingly deep themes (We are not liable for any Daddy Issues that may or may not surface). Written, performed and glitter glued together by Luca Torrens, this show is for those struggling to find their place in the world but especially to queer youth to whom acceptance is everything.
Luca Torrens is a latine non-binary artist based in Miami, Florida where they attended New World School of the Arts and received a Bachelors in Fine Arts, specialized in Musical Theatre, from the University of Florida.
